Queen of Lover Rock, Janet Kay is best known for the massive chart hit song ‘Silly Games’ written and produced by Dennis Bovell.
Janet was the very first British born black female artist to have a song at the top of the UK charts, a fact that’s recorded in the Music Guiness Book Of Records.
However, she had already enjoyed several successes in the Reggae charts with a number of songs including a cover version of Minni Ripperton’s ‘Lovin You’, That’s What Friends Are For’, ‘I Do Love You’ and others.
A prolific songwriter too, she wrote all of the songs, except two, on her best-selling album ‘Capricorn Woman’.
