Brief History of ABBA

Pop band ABBA first formed in Stockholm, Sweden in ‘72, the four originating members were Anni-Frid, Benny, Agnitha and Bjorn. 

The band fast developed and became one of the most successful commercial popular music acts in the history of music.  They topped the charts globally from for ten whole years between 1972 to 1982. 

After winning the Eurovision song contest in 1974; which was held at the Dome in Brighton, UK, the bands popularity and success really soared and jetted them to a position of international stardom. 

The band still remains the most successful act to have ever taken part in the Eurovision song contest right up to this day.

Worldwide record sales for ABBA songs are reported to have reached 500 million before the band stopped recording and finally split, however, the legend lives on and their music is played right across the globe every day, making them the most played and best known act in history.
